BT Group, the biggest broadband and mobile provider in Britain, is set to let go of up to 55,000 jobs, potentially over 40% of its workforce by 2030.

According to BT's CEO, Philip Jansen, it’s digitisation plan will build a better, smarter company. Jansen has been steering the company towards more profits by creating a national fibre network, rolling out high-speed 5G mobile services, and adopting artificial intelligence.

Last year, BT experienced its first growth in six years, but the cost of switching to more advanced systems and the impact on free cash flow brought its shares down.
