Google has been met with a legal setback as Judge Leonie Brinkema denied its motion to dismiss the Department of Justice antitrust case against it.

The ruling means that the government is able to proceed in pursuing a lawsuit which alleges that Google should be forced to sell off certain parts of its managed advertising suite, citing market power and dominance over competitors like Facebook.

Despite this decision, Google remains firm on their stance denying any wrongdoing with claims of incorrect definition by the government when it comes defining exact details within an online ad exchange marketplace.
