The NSW goervnment has unveiled a digital tool called the "legislation twin" that aims to assist public servants in navigating the complexities of NSW law.

Developed by experts at the NSW Data Analytics Centre, this tool provides an interface for users to understand the connections between various legal elements such as Acts, statutory instruments, environment planning instruments, and gazettes.

By analysing data from NSW legislation and employing natural language processing, the legislation twin ensures that the tool is up to date and informative. It also helps users identify discrepancies in the definitions of terms across different Acts.

This resource is invaluable for public servants responsible for drafting new laws and formulating policies, enabling them to consider all relevant legislation and ensure clarity in their decision-making.
