The FBI has issued a warning to all Americans that using free public charging stations can potentially put your device at risk of malware attacks.

Cyber criminals have discovered ways to exploit public USB ports with malicious software and surveillance tools that can infect your device. Instead, it's recommended to carry your own charger and USB cord and opt for electrical outlets, providing an extra layer of security for your personal devices. 

The study was published in the journal Advanced Science.
