Faulty AI in the Sky! New 'Meta-Powered Military Chatbot' Critiqued as Seriously Flawed

Meta has launched into the business of war with a new military tech tool powered by  Meta’s artificial intelligence, with a claim to be a convenient tool for planning airstrikes.

This tool is being touted as a convenient option for planning airstrikes. But critics argue it provides reckless and inaccurate advice. 

Meta had previously prohibited military uses in Llama's terms of service, but announced a change in policy, explaining that responsible uses of AI models promote global security. 

Despite these claims, munitions experts who evaluated Defense Llama’s advice described it as flawed, impractical, and possibly dangerous. 

The marketing illustration that demonstrates the tool's function also sparked controversy, with experts noting that it oversimplifies a complex deadly activity and provides inaccurate technical data. 

These criticisms highlight worries about the deployment of AI in sensitive areas such as military operations, raising questions on AI ethics and accountability.
