Last week, a devastating accident occurred in South Korea when an industrial robot tragically mistook a man for boxes of produce it was handling. The incident took place at a distribution center for agricultural produce in South Gyeongsang province. The victim, a worker in his 40s from a robotics company, was inspecting the robot's sensor operations at the time.

According to the police, the malfunctioning robotic arm mistakenly identified the man as a box and forcefully pushed his upper body against the conveyor belt. As a result, his face and chest were crushed. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the man sadly succumbed to his injuries.

This is not the first instance of such a tragedy, as just last month, another worker in his 50s in South Korea was seriously injured when he became trapped by a robot at an automobile parts manufacturing plant.

These incidents serve as a grave reminder of the importance of safety precautions and proper training when working with industrial robots.
