Concerns have been rising in recent years about workplaces using technology to monitor and manage their employees. The Biden Administration is taking note, recently announcing plans to study the effects of surveillance technologies on workers' rights.

According to a statement released by White House Office of Science & Technology Policy, these systems can be beneficial at times but they also come with risks like potential interference with union activities or discrimination based on data collected through monitoring conversations.

Advocates have previously raised concerns about this sort of surveillance. Eyes are on the Biden administration as this initiative is considered an important step towards protecting human rights in all workspaces across America.
